Activities

There is no end of exploring to be had on and around Kiwayu…island hopping, extraordinary wild walking on beaches, dunes, and coastal bush. An area inhabited for over a thousand years, there are wondrous signs of ancient trade towns and people long moved on. Snorkelling on any number of coral heads, body surfing, kayaking, birding, rock-pooling, picnics in coral coves and secluded beaches.

One of the most exciting bio-diverse areas in Kenya, the Kiunga Marine Reserve is a wonder for anyone in love with the Natural World.

Fishing

The Kiunga Marine Reserve, made up of islands and mangrove channels, are exceptional fishing grounds for fly-fishing and creek fishing, and with the cold Somali current running less than 5 km off shore pelagic game fish add to the variety of sport fishing available.
